Going single-stack would pretty much be the wrong direction and defeat the purpose of the P365. OP, if you want a pistol that is thinner you need to look into the Ruger LC9s. It's also, IIRC, a tad lighter. And it's single-stack and 7+1. Shoot them a few times. Take them apart and put them back together. Check the follower for left over swarf or debris. Check the feet of the follower for casting residue or anything else that would prevent it from reaching full depth.
