It doesn’t feel bad but it definitely doesn’t feel like paper. So if you are just looking for the most realistic paper feel then go get the remarkable 2. I have remarkable, A5X, and A6X. A5X feels sort of lighter than remarkable 2 but I think this may really be due to density/material difference. I don't know that the weight is really that different. I love writing on A6X but I mostly journal and have used small notebooks for note taking in class before. The new upgraded Supernote A6X is in pre-order and shipping August 2020 for $299. Even though it is smaller than both the Supernote A5 (no X model yet) and the Remarkable 2 it seems to have an advantage over both with better quad-processor and an Android operation systems instead of the a custom Linux OS.

In fact I switched to the Boox pen immediately. And the magnets are better so it stays attached better. The UI of the note taking app has improved dramatically. Too much to mention. Conclusion: If you are thinking about buying the Boox Note Air, get the new one, the Boox Note Air 2.
I’ve used the rM1 and A6X. I heard the rM2 has a bit more of a pen-feel to it than rM1. I prefer pen to pencil. My recent favorite has been a gel rollerball. In terms of writing feel, the A6X is a bit unusual. It has a thin rubber layer. Writing with speed and light pressure feels more like ballpoint.
