All the hinges were extremely rigid as wells. After full asssembly of the whole arm, I stood on the plate, and moved the monitor arm back and forth all angles and essentially loosened the hinges. While this is purely opinion, there aren't many ultra-cheap desks that look as clean as this setup can with the right color combos.
